To begin training a horse... how do we count the ways?  That's how I felt at the beginning.  I decided the only way to figure it out was to start doing research. Now I don't mean writing a thesis, I mean going to clinics, reading books, ordering magazines and in general sucking up more information than I'd already accumulated in a lifetime of riding.

I tried a variety of different methods, some which worked for me and most which didn't.  I found out later they didn't work for most of the people I knew either.

Here's what I came up with and this will not surprise you, my own way!  It's called the Safety, Sanity & Success method© (3S©) of horse and rider education.  I've taken all the information I've learned and compiled a program that works for me, my clients and their horses.  Following is the list of programs I offer for your horse.

  • socialize foals for safety and performance.
  • evaluate the equipment fit for you and your horse.
  • start a horse under saddle
  • rehabilitate emotionally troubled horses
  • rehabilitate physical injuries
  • conditioning for your "POINT?"
